The Night That Was

L.P. and I just spent an evening together. Here is what we did:

1. Ate tacos at the amazing Taco Tuesday at Lincoln Park Pub.
2. Watched the MTV movie awards on mtv.com
3. Checked out some trailers on imdb.com
4. Watched Twilight...
5...while simultaneously doing other things, like setting up this joint blog and talking about other stuff.
6. Drank beer.
7. Swooned.

Let's get into specifics:

1. The tacos at the Lincoln Park Pub are indescribable. There is something about the greasy, not-hard-but-not-soft shell, the sauce, and the meat that make these tacos the best I've ever had. And on Tuesdays, they are only $1.25. It is also hard to find a seat to eat these tacos.

2. The MTV movie awards were overall pretty great this year. I stopped watching the Video awards ages ago because they are lame and everyone seems coked out. The movie awards, however, have managed to retain some amount of entertainment value (even if they lack actual credibility). First off, some of the categories seemed skewed. Why was Taraji P. Henson in Best Female Performance, and not in Breakthrough Female Performance, while the High School Musical girls were in Breakthrough and Efron was in Best Male? I don't understand.I was okay with Twilight winning everything.

Because I'm totally lame.

Enough said.

Some of the highlights included Andy Samberg's opening number, the beautiful arrangements of Digital Short songs sung by Leanne Rhimes, other guy, and Forest Whitaker.( I don't care if these are misspelled. I just drank a lot of beer with L.P. ) Also, Bruno shoving his balls in Eminem's face and Keifer Sutherland crying over Ben Stiller. A+ there.

3. We watched the trailers for Where the Wild Things Are and How To Be. I've already seen these, but L.P hadn't.

4-7.We turned Twilight on while we did other stuff. We mostly talked and debated what to call our blog, but occasionally we stopped to check out the action (and by action I mean Edward Cullen, and by Edward Cullen I mean Robert Pattinson). I can't deny my general lust and groin moistening for him and L.P. seemed to concur. It was nice to have someone indulge in all the gory details of this film with me (and by gory I mean sexy).

For anyone that is interested, the title of this blog refers to a particular summer that L.P. and I spent with our closest friends drinking and doing bad things, which we hope to recount some of here. Eventually.

For now, I leave you with this:

Vampires are awesome.
Staring blogs with your friends is awesome.
Taco Tuesday is awesome.
.....writing blog entries when kind of drunk is ESPECIALLY awesome.

Goodnight and may I dream of Edward Cullen.

Again.
